Steven was born on Friday, December 17, 1982, at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas, to Michael and Hattie Kennedy. He has a sister Lisa Kennedy (1/21/1987), and had a brother Michael E. Kennedy Jr. (6/14/1980). Steven has a daughter Michayla Kennedy, born June 11th 2012. Steven's Father Michael E. Kennedy is a graduate of Grambling State University (1979), and played the Trumpet in the Tiger Marching Band from 1975 to 1979. Steven's Mother Hattie E. Kennedy is also a graduate of Grambling State University (1978) and played the Flute in the Concert Band at Grambling. Steven is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University (2007), with a Bachelors Degree in Communications, and he was also a Sports Writer for the University Newspaper "The Panther" from 2003-2007. Steven learned how to play the Trumpet in the 3rd Grade, and played Trumpet in the Concert Band from 5th grade through the 8th grade. Kennedy played the Trumpet in C. E. King High School's Marching Band from 1997-1999. Kennedy also played guard in the Sheldon Basketball League in 1993 for the "Jazz" coached by his father Michael Kennedy, and played basketball at C. E. King Junior High in the 7th grade during the 1995-1996 basketball season.
